LOOSE PARTS
We love having loose parts on the playground for the children. Crates, buckets, shovels, pvc pipes, and other random items can be found on our yard to aid in experimenting, constructing, pretending, and exploring. We are always looking for new materials for the children to be creative and have fun with. If you have any “loose parts” for donation, we’d love to have them. Please make sure they are safe for children (no sharp points, lead free, clean, etc.,). Talk to Miss Shalimar if you have any questions or potential donations. Thank You!
Last Month…
Last month we brought in the Lunar New Year by coloring our Chinese Dragons and reading about some traditional ways people celebrate the holiday. Happy Year Of The Tiger!
We celebrated Black History Month by learning about all the wonderful inventions that have been contributed by black inventors.
We had a Valentine’s Day Party where we danced our little hearts out, exchanged Valentine’s and shared a yummy heart-shaped snack! In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, we discussed what it means to love people, and how being kind and respectful of others plays a large role in loving others.
This month we also explored painting with strawberry baskets, water colors and car painting that turned into finger paint. We have been enjoying collage with different materials and doing a lot of free art using glue and scissors. Building has become popular with many of our friends and the Magnatiles continue to be our favorite.
This month we’ll celebrate St. Patrick’s day by making traps to try and catch the tricky Leprechaun. We’ll talk about Spring and all the changes we see.
